About our Summer and Articling Student Program

At Smith Litkowski, we believe in fostering a supportive and collaborative environment where aspiring lawyers can develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to excel in their legal careers. Our student program is designed to provide a well-rounded and immersive experience, including a diverse exposure to cases at the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice, and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. There is no better way to prepare for a criminal law associate position in the Greater Toronto Area.

Key Features of Our Articling Program:

  • Diverse Legal Experience: Our program exposes students to various cases and areas of practices, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in the criminal defence field, including both trial and appellate work.
  • Professional Development: We value the professional growth of our students. Mentoring sessions and seminars are organized to enhance legal skills, ethics, and practice management.
  • Client Interaction: Our students will have the opportunity to interact with clients on a daily basis, participate in client meetings, and contribute to case strategy discussions under the supervision of our experienced lawyers.
  • Research and Writing Skills: We value the importance of refining research and writing skills. Our students will have the chance to conduct legal research and case laws, draft and prepare legal documents, and draft memoranda, for various of cases.
